CCCTS Cycling - Come join us on one of our Friday rides. We are a road cycling group of active adults and members of the Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society (CCCTS).
We meet at the Filberg Centre's lower parking lot, 411 Anderton Courtenay, before setting off on a bike ride in the Comox Valley area and neighbouring regions. We cycle at a medium pace of 20 kph for a 40 to 80 km ride.
We cycle every Friday from March 18 to October 21. We start at 10am, except in July and August when we get a earlier start, 9am, to get a jump on the summer heat.
We elect a leader and a sweep with cell phones to ensure everyone finds the route and we stop at critical turns along the way so no one gets lost. During the ride, there is a planned break for refreshments and to enjoy a little socializing.
Most of us ride on 27-gear road bikes. Please ensure that your bicycle is in good working order. Along with your multi-gear bicycle please bring water bottles, a snack, spare inner tube, air pump and money for refreshments at our scheduled rest stop.
Non-members are welcome on one ride and further rides will require a membership with the CCCTS. The CCCTS is a non-profit organization for active adult cyclists and also offers organized cycle tours.
For a complete list of our scheduled rides and times, please refer to www.cccts.org (see "Local Groups", "Vancouver Island Weekly Rides" and Comox Valley). For more information please contact Georgina Price tel. 250-337-8933 or email [email protected]
