Eve Daniell, whose family home is in the Cowichan Valley, but whose career is on the rise in London, England, returns for a 3rd time to ing a recital in Victoria’s Christ Church Cathedral. She’ll be joined on the piano by fellow “Valley Girl” Rykie Avenant. Admission to the one-hour performance is by donation.
They're bringing us beloved music: Claude Debussy's Ariettes oubliées, Herbuert Hughs' Irish Folk Songs, Reynaldo Hahn's Venezia and Richard Strauss's beloved "last songs". Eve recently had the honour of singing before HM Queen Elizabeth, HRH Prince Philip and the Governor-General at Canada House in London. That program included “Canoe,” from Stories of Klee Wyck, by Victoria composer Tobin Stokes, which Eve had premiered at Victoria Symphony Splash in 2012.
Described as “a real find” (Opera Magazine) with a voice “silkily rich, and as agile at the top as it is secure and full at the bottom” (Opera Today) Eve Daniell is a graduate of the Royal Academy Opera, London. She was a soloist at the BBC’s prestigious Last Night of the Proms at Royal Albert Hall in 2016, and was the 2015 winner of the Pavarotti Prize, among numerous other scholarships and awards. Eve has appeared on BBC 4’s The Archers, on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, and on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, as well as many opera and concert performances in the UK and Canada.
