Carving on the Edge presents: Six-Foot Wind Woman Cedar Mask Carving

Join us on the covered Shore Pier on the water where Nuu-chah-nulth artist Gordon Dick and friends will be working on a six-foot Wind Woman Cedar Mask. Artist Gordon Dick is an acclaimed Tsheshaht carver, who has studied with master carver, Tim Paul. He has carved a number of totem poles and many commissions in British Columbia and beyond. He owns and operates Ahtsik Gallery in Port Alberni that also serves as a carving studio for several emerging artists. Other carving artists working: Mark Mickey, Keith Plumley, & Carl Martin.
The Carving on the Edge Festival takes place August 29 to September 14 and showcases traditional and contemporary west coast wood carving with exhibits, forums, feasts, family programs and demonstrations.
