Carron Berkes is a local artist who enjoys painting (acrylics and watercolours), mixed media, recycled art and found objects, sculpting and photography. Her many colourful themes include the natural world (plants, animals and landscapes), abstraction, figurative and whimsical narratives. Her art is in private collections in Canada, Germany and America.

On exhibit during June and July at Heron Rock Bistro is an eclectic mix of nature-themed and abstract paintings in acrylic and mixed-media. Works presented in this show speak of subtle and vibrant energy, light, color, shape and form. Infused with simplicity and imagination, Berkes' art blends realism (Thundering Surf and Contemplation II) with dreamy interpretations of the physical world (Guardian Amidst Us and Search for Balance). The art show runs until July 30th.

Tucked away in the historic neighbourhood of James Bay is the Heron Rock Bistro�a city staple, which for 9 years, not only offers excellent food 7 days a week, but is also a fabulous venue for live music and for visual artists to show their work.
