Carol-Along with the Carillon
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
If you like to sing carols or you enjoy listening, bring your pooch and gather on the front steps of the Royal BC Museum for this unique event. Provincial Carillonneur Rosemary Laing does her best Santa Claus impersonation, but instead of going up the chimney, she climbs seventy-five stairs to the top of carillon. She plays the bells, and down below the crowd, led by conductor Peter Dent and the Newcombe Singers, sing along. At the end of the forty-five minute set, a light show illuminates the carillon, well wishes are given for the holidays and we all set out to start the season.
This event is free to attend and there are free hot chocolate and cookies for those who come and join in the singing and dog biscuits for our honorary carollers as well.
You can visit the RBCM website to check out a video from a previous Carol-Along and see what happens up in the bell tower.
