Blending the exquisiteness of Middle Eastern music, the freedom of jazz, and the passion of flamenco The Itamar Erez trio includes Itamar Erez (Piano & Guitar), Francois Houle (clarinet) & Hamin Honari (percussion), who are all invaluable and unique contributors to the Canadian and International world & jazz music scene. Weaving together a complex array of sonorities, influences and styles, they turn their empathic playing into a kaleidoscopic, virtuosic, and infectiously uplifting music.
Itamar's music holds a depth and sensitivity that touches listeners deeply. It blends the delicateness of Middle Eastern music, the freedom found in jazz and the passion of flamenco, creating a unique sound all his own. Itamar Erez is an internationally renowned composer and guitarist who has shared the stage with such musicians as Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Tomatito, Avishai Cohen, Jean-Louis Matinier, Zohar Fresco, and others.
Persian Tombak virtuoso Hamin Honari has toured the world with the legendary Dastan Ensemble, one of Iran's most well-known Persian classical music ensembles. François Houle has been called “a spectacularly versatile clarinetist who appears to have no limitations stylistically or sonically” by the LA Times.
