Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons: Maritime Radio Course - Nanaimo

This course is restricted to 12 students at a time. Students will be accepted on a first come first enrolled basis.
A Restricted Operator's Certificate is a legal requirement for anyone using a VHF Radio in Canada. With successful completion of this course you will obtain your ROC(M) with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) endorsement.
A second family member who shares study materials may get the instruction and take the exam for a reduced price.
We will review regulations and operation of the VHF Radio in the morning. The afternoon will be spent on the operation of the DSC component of a VHF Radio. You will also have time to practice some of what you have learned on real VHF Radios equipped with DSC.
The exam will be given and reviewed immediately after the practice session.
This course is given in Nanaimo and must be attended in person. Photo ID will be required.
