The Maritime Radio course teaches emergency radio procedures and everyday operating techniques. Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS).
This course, presented in two evenings of instruction, will prepare you for the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime), or ROC(M), with DSC Endorsement, exam, which is administered in the third session. Course materials are provided, including an instructional CD.
Holders of Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) issued before January 1st 2005 should also take this course to learn about the new Digital communication channels on the new Maritime radios and their use in an emergency situation. Digital Selective Calling could save your life in an emergency situation. Earn your DSC Endorsement.
