Double Life is a series of boldly colorful abstract acrylic paintings that delve into artistic process and personal experience. Robichaud pushes the possibilities for her chosen medium by manipulating the paint through taping, pouring and scraping. She juxtaposes hard raised lines against organic shapes found in the everyday objects that surround her � a bathroom fixture, a bone, lace. Her process is intuitive. The forms and composition emerge at will, becoming evident as she works. Double Life encompasses the myriad of roles in Robichaud�s life, from being a wife and mother, to her work as an artist, to capturea range of human experience, from the banal to moments of epiphany and exhilaration.
