Your Vote Your Vancouver Island with three outstanding Green Party Leaders of 2017. On Saturday February 11th come to Coco Café in Nanaimo to help launch the Nanaimo North Cowichan MLA candidate Lia Versaevel’s 2017 Election Campaign (dinner will be available for purchase).
With guests Glen Solitt MLA candidate of Parksville & Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver Lia Versaevel was inspired by the Green Party to enter into politics to build a future for her children and grandchildren. After 27 years with the Attorney General’s Ministry as a Correctional Officer, Peace Officer, Probation Officer and Family Justice Counselor, Lia moved into family mediation, teaching and security work, giving her many modalities of experience. Having left prior, she returned to Vancouver Island in 2013, as an active community member. Lia has much to offer as Nanaimo-North-Cowichan’s Green Candidate. Lia declares education, health care, and protection of our most vulnerable citizens are priorities in her campaign. She has advocated for system change since she first initiated a residential treatment center for adolescents, in 1982 -the Fleetwood Glen in Surrey through the Guildford Home Society. Sustainable economy, respecting diversity, clean oceans, and stopping Kinder Morgan are just some of the issues discussed in her campaign travels, along with the belief students should be reimbursed tuition fees after receiving their graduating certificate.
“We need to give the young, new, and loyal voters hope they can optimize their future”, says Lia.

As an engineer, Glenn Sollitt had a very rewarding experience working at Norpac Controls, serving the process industries in BC. Norpac was an award winning company and a terrific environment to enhance skills in business professionalism, responsibility, accountability and management. These were highlight years as Glenn and Fiona were married and were lucky enough to have three wonderful children. An opportunity to create a satellite office for Norpac provided a path back to island life with a move to Vancouver Island.
When it eventually felt like a time for change, Glenn worked in management in the shellfish aquaculture industry and would later create his own seafood distribution company. http://www.bcgreens.ca/glenn_sollitt_bio
