Camosun College's Insight Speaker Series 2011 presents Canadian Aboriginal storyteller and documentary filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin, April 6 at the McPherson Playhouse.
Alanis Obomsawin, a member of the Abenaki Nation, is one of Canada's most distinguished documentary filmmakers. For over 40 years, she has written, produced and/or directed more than 30 uncompromising documentaries at the National Film Board (NFB) on issues affecting Aboriginal people in Canada. Her stories express strong social content, inspired by the desire to let the voices of her people be heard.
