Camille Miller wrote her first �protest� song at the age of eleven in response to the injustices of being grounded. She continued to write during her early teenage years as a way to express the frustrations of life as an �army brat�. Music was an early outlet for Camille to express her true feelings. It still is today. Born in Germany and raised on military bases all across Canada, Camille grew up on Motown, Carly Simon, The Carpenters, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and the Rolling Stones. These artists shaped Camille�s musical tastes at an early age, and were the voices that put her to sleep at night and still provide comfort to her as she brings an updated version of vocal grace and soul of yesteryears to her modern pop sound. Camille released her first solo album (cassette actually...) �Things People See� in 1998 with the help of Vancouver Island producer Rick Salt of Lois Lane Studios. In 2002 release, her second album �She Knows�, produced by Doug Elliott (ODDS), marked the start of her long-term writing partnership with fellow musician and close friend Nick Haggar. �She Knows� (Synergy Records, 2002) led to a Much Music Video grant for the song �I Always Will� and placements on the popular TV series �Cold Squad�. With the support of Bruce Allen (manager of Bryan Adams and Michael Buble) Camille toured the UK three times caught the ear of Bristol-based Sugar Shack Records who released her third album �Carnarvon Street� (Sugar Shack, 2005). In the �000s Miller contributed to albums by a range of other artists, singing vocals on �Lost� by US-based Electronica group �Baligomingo�, whose widely acclaimed album �Beneath the Surface� was released on BMG/RCA in 2002. She wrote and sang four songs on Polish pop icon Robert Chojnacki�s album �Saxophonic� (BMG Poland, 2006), culminating in a concert with Chojnacki and the Baltic Symphony Orchestra. This exposure enabled Camille to build a fan base in Poland and secured her regular billing at some of the country�s top live music venues. Her fourth album �Somewhere Near The Truth� was released across Canada in 2008 on Sound Of Pop Records - recorded, produced and engineered by Geraldo Dominelli (Loverboy, West End Girls) at the infamous Mushroom Studios in Vancouver. Camille and Sound of Pop Records released a video for the second single �So Frustrated'. The video was shot in Vancouver by Mischa Hrziwnatzki. Camille welcomed to the world a beautiful baby girl, Hannah, in October 2009. This may have changed a many things, but not her love of writing, recording and playing music. In November 2009, Camille and Nick Haggar released the single 'Artificial Joy' direct to iTunes through Sound of Pop Records. Camille then relocated to Brazil in 2010, where � with huge support from international music executive Adrian Harley � she hooked up with renowned local musicians, including Rian Batista (Guizado, Cidad�o Instigado), Caetano Malta and Beto Gibbs. For a short time Camille played a house gig in Sao Paulo, learning a lot in the process. Camille then moved to Colombia, welcomed her second child, Samuel, in late 2011, and was welcomed into the Colombian music circle by Julian Mosquera (organizer of Festival Centro, Colombia's largest Rock Festival). In spring of 2012 Camille began work on her fifth solo recording. Back in Canada with Rick Salt of Lois Lane studios, she reunited with Doug Elliott and Pat Steward of 'ODDS�, completing a six song EP entitled 'Parallel to The Sea'. The EP builds on recurrent Miller themes - the anguish and delight of day-to-day life - with a new twist of inspiration from her two young children, and the resulting sleep deprivation. Joining Pat and Doug on the record were Vancouver Island legends Tina Jones (The Kerplunks) and Joel Spillette on organ. While mostly featuring solo compositions, the EP includes also �Artificial Joy� co-written with the ever-present Nick Haggar. As the summer of 2012 drew to a close, Camille finished shooting a video for new song 'Tiniest of Hearts', reuniting her with longtime friend and video producer Tash Baycroft of Filter Studios out of Nanaimo. The EP 'Parallel to The Sea' is due to be released in November 2012, shortly before a number of London dates she will play with VERY special guests. Details to follow�.
