Why did Ukraine experience two popular revolutions in a decade? Why did Russia intervene after the second uprising, annexing the Crimea and sponsoring a war in the Donbas? Building on his recently published book about the conflict in Ukraine, Dr. Serhy Yekelchyk will provide the historical and political background that is crucial for understanding this newest European conflict.
