The Butchart Gardens' summer festival presents The Electric Timber Company, playing great original and familiar folk/rock tunes. This open air concert takes place on the Concert Lawn stage. Come sit on a bench, or bring a blanket and sit on the lawn. The summer entertainment program is part of your general admission ticket.

Victoria music collective, The Electric Timber Company's musical style sits comfortably at the intersection of the Allman Brothers, Otis Redding, and Neil Young, offering the perfect mix of grit and groove. In the years since conception, the continuous union of veteran roots musicians has pioneered a boogie stew of their own invention with ingredients including soulgrass, rock, rhythm and a self-styled strain of roots. Some may say the yin-yang of the Tedeschi Trucks Band is a suitable reference point for what The Electric Timber Company lays down on stage.

The all-star assembly (whose membership is culled from notable acts including Current Swell, Towers and Trees, Jets Overhead, and Jon and Roy among others) has been wowing B.C. audiences since 2011, when the dream team of musicians first supplied its soulgrass to audiences around the province. On the heels of its first-ever performance — a sold-out night of rock ‘n’ roll revelry before 600 fans — The Electric Timber Company has progressively expanded its reach. That they have done so the old-fashioned way — set by set, gig by gig, fan by fan — should tell audiences everything they need to know. Listeners can expect sets defined by improvisational adventures and expert playing shifting styles to include rock-inflected country during one set, and folk-imbued R&B the next. The collective can also be found at multi-day music festivals including V.I.C. Fest and the Victoria Jazz Fest as well as cutting-edge culinary events like Brewery and the Beast Vancouver and Victoria.
