add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
These workshops will provide participants with not only theories, but also comprehensive and practical exercises to begin building confidence in understanding, communicating and interacting effectively with people from different cultures.
Workshop 1: Developing Self-Awareness (2.5 hours)
Participants will take the first step in building their cultural competency by examining their own beliefs and attitudes about cultural differences. They will learn about themselves and how they react to people who are different from them. The more we know about ourselves and how we react to different people, the better we are able to control and choose the kind of behaviours well display.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Analyze their own beliefs and cultural background, and how they affect their perceptions and interpretation of others.
- Recognize assumptions and selective perceptions that we make up about others and ourselves.
- Identify limiting beliefs that may inhibit their ability to interact with people who are different from them.
