Workshop 9:30 am 11:30 pm Lecture only 12:30 pm- 1:30 pm

Bats are not only fascinating and mysterious because of their nocturnal nature and unique adaptations; they also provide billions of dollars of benefit to humans through insect control. Over the past few years they have been declining precipitously due to the emergence of a disease called White Nose Syndrome, to a point where even the most common bats might become endangered. Come and join Christian Engelstoft of Habitat Acquisition Trust and Purnima Govindarajulu of Ministry of Environment to learn about bat biology, the looming threats, and how you can help to protect bats by improving habitat, providing roosting opportunities and contribute to scientific data collection. You will build bat-boxes, learn about site selection, installation techniques and learn about monitoring and data submission protocols.
