Join us at VIU in celebration of International Women's Day by attending a free lecture with Dr. Tessa Jordan (BCIT) who will discuss her book, Feminist Acts: The Making of Canadian Feminism (U Alberta Press, 2019). Open discussion will follow with topics including feminist activism, publishing, and environmentalism. Lecture runs 1 pm -2:30 pm and discussion runs 2:30 pm-4 pm. This March 5 event is in anticipation of International Women's Day and Nanaimo's 4th Annual Nanaimo Women March On march held on Sunday, March 8, 2020. (The Women's march begins at 11 am at Maffeo Sutton Park and the route ends at Nanaimo Entertainment Centre where guest speakers will share front-line experiences of resilience, survival, and healing, from 12:30 pm-2:30 pm).
