This camp is for primary students who have completed Kindergarten up to and including those who have completed Grade 3 by June 2014. It will feature two main components of a child�s learning in the early years: Reading and recreation. The Reading part of the camp will take place in the morning followed by sports activities like soccer, basketball, badminton, swimming, hiking, etc� in the afternoon. An outing to the beach is planned for one afternoon as well as to the local Library.

Qualified teachers and retired teachers along with their assistants (teachers in training and other volunteers) will guide the campers in the following Reading activities: Being read to in large group, reading and oral speaking in small groups, and writing and letter work in small groups. Drama opportunities may be available depending on group interest and size. Basic Primary Math opportunities may also be made available depending on needs and time.

This is a camp geared towards assisting those students in the Primary grades and their parents, in making a conscience effort to boost or continue with their reading over the summer. It also gives the campers an opportunity to exercise their minds and body to develop a healthier vacation routine. A love of reading is developed in the early years with encouragement, skill and being surrounded by those who also love to read. Once established, a love of reading will last a lifetime!
