Join us for the launch of "Jewish Fairy Tale Feasts: A Literary Cookbook" by Heidi E.Y. Stemple, Jane Yolen and illustrator Sima Elizabeth Shefrin who will be in the library to talk about the book.

What happens when an author, an illustrator and a chef combine their talents? A book of JEwish fairy tales lavishly illustrated and peppered with delicious Jewish recipes to accompany them. This magical book is a feast - for the stomach, the eyes and the imagination.

Sima Elizabeth Shefrin played as a toddler in the galleries of Italy, creating art professionally as a visual artist for 30 years.

She is particularly interested in the ways that artwork brings together people of different cultures. Her Middle East Peace Quilt www.vcn.bc.ca/quilt is an international community art project which has been touring North America since 1999.

Elizabeth has recently turned to book illustration and has three previous books to her credit: "Abby's Birds" written by Ellen Schwartz, "Latkes" written by Bob Bossin and "Once Upon a Bath Time" written by Vi Hughes.

Refreshments will be served and copies of "Jewish Fairy Tale Feasts" will be available for purchase.
