Join Maude Barlow, best-selling author and activist, for a discussion of Canada’s water crisis and book signing.
Canada’s leading water expert Maude Barlow will be in Nanaimo at Bowen Park Auditorium on April 7/17 at 6:30 p.m. , as part of a 5-city B.C. tour to launch her new book Boiling Point: Government Neglect, Corporate Abuse, and Canada’s Water Crisis (ECW Press, September 2016).
Boiling Point is a timely and insightful guide for residents, election candidates, elected officials and environmental organizations and seeking to protect freshwater in the province and in Indigenous communities, leading up to the B.C. election on Tuesday May 9, 2017.
It lays bare the extent of Canada’s water crisis and argues water policies will become the defining issue of the next decade.
Maude Barlow is the national chairperson of the Council of Canadians and Washington-based Food and Water Watch, a councilor for the World Future Council, a board member for a number of influential organizations and has previously acted as Senior Advisor on Water to the 63rd President of the UN General Assembly. Her work has earned her 14 honorary doctorates and numerous awards and recognitions.
