The PCOC (Boating Basics) covers the legal requirements to operate a boat in Canadian waters. The Boating Essentials course picks up where the PCOC finishes and covers topics to allow you to do so safely. This is particularly important in the hazardous waters around the Georgia Straits.
Topics covered include navigation, compass, tides and currents, anchors and anchoring, power and sailboat handling, environmental responsibility and much more.
The course runs on Thursday evenings from February 13th 2014 until April 10th 2014, starting each evening at 7.00 pm in St Mary�s Church Hall, Nanoose.
