Presented by the Songwriters Association of Canada, in partnership with the Victoria Folk Music Society. Popular with audiences in Toronto, Halifax and Vancouver, BLUEBIRD NORTH comes to Victoria for the second time in the program's history.

BLUEBIRD NORTH VICTORIA host Shari Ulrich is joined by Helen Austin, Bill Henderson, and Tom Taylor, who will share their songs and the stories that inspired them.

Shari Ulrich has been producing Bluebird North, Vancouver and Toronto’s  longest-running songwriters’ showcase and one of the cities’ richest live music experiences, for almost 25 years.  She has long wanted to bring this event to Victoria, and with the help from the VFMS, is presenting its second show. These four performing songwriters, though always different in styles, share the common ground of great song craftsmanship and a love for sharing their songs in concert that is guaranteed to create the rare and unique gem of a live concert experience that is the hallmark of every Bluebird North.

Originally inspired by the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville, the event was started in the early 90’s in Toronto by Marc Jordon and Amy Sky. Songwriter and SAC board member Ron Irving introduced  it in Vancouver the following year and soon handed the baton off to Shari, who has championed the event ever since.

Bluebird North: Where Writers Sing and Tell is produced by Shari Ulrich for the Songwriters Association of Canada. The SAC gratefully acknowledges the support of the SOCAN Foundation. For more information on the SAC’s mandate, activities and membership programs, please visit www.songwriters.ca
