Enjoy a performance by The Black Swan Fiddlers, and savour a delicious meal from Zocalo’s excellent menu while listening. Top it off with ”the Best Coffee in Town” or a drink from the bar menu.
The Black Swan Fiddlers have been playing Celtic music in the Comox Valley since 2005. We have worked hard over the years honing our Celtic sound and staying true to the tradition. To this mix of reels, jigs, hornpipes, and polkas we add soulful Irish ballads, French Canadian reels Canadian ballads and fiddle tunes. The result is an entertaining evening of warm, exciting, foot tapping music.
In the summer of 2012 we produced our first CD called Southwind a tribute to my late great fiddle teacher from County Donegal Seamus Grant. It features our then vocalist Jacqueline Lambeth a professional voice teacher with background in opera, jazz and popular songs. Our current lead vocalist is Michael Harrison who brings many years as a professional voice teacher, choir master and performer to the band. Our other musicians include Paul Gervais on guitar, Jeff Butterworth on mandolin and vocals, Madelaine Guimond, Raven Lees and Mya Williamson on fiddle. David Stevenson holds it all together on the fiddle, the pennywhistle, and the flute. He is the fiddle teacher at the Long & McQuade Music Education Centre.
