The BC Black History Awareness Society presents an overview of Black History, with stories, and songs by the celebrated performer Mr. Leon Bibb, of Vancouver, accompanied by his personal pianist, Bill Sample, formerly of Victoria. Leon is an inductee to the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame and a recipient of the 2002 City of Vancouver Cultural Harmony Award. He has received the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, the Harry Jerome Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2009 he was made a Member of the Order of British Columbia.
This is a rare opportunity to attend a very special entertaining evening at Government House in the presence of The Honourable Judith Guichon, OBC Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. The ticket price includes a reception following the concert where there will be a hosted wine bar and appetizers.
Tickets are $35 and can only be bought in advance.
