Nanaimo African Heritage Society invites you to the opening ceremonies for Black History Month at the beautiful North End Library right here in Nanaimo.
Bring your little ones for a storytelling session by Wanda Jemly from Vancouver.
"Wanda Jemly was born in Cameroon, has spent most of her life in Switzerland and has been living in Canada since 2011. She writes children's books published under her Lu-et-Relu company's label, that she also performs on stage for children and their parents. She performs at various African-themed events in Canada, Europe and Africa. She devotes a lot of her time to promoting reading in the remote areas of Cameroon, and developing awareness about African culture around the world." (taken from IMBD)
Later that evening, join us for the evening social portion of the event, with musical entertainment by TRIO!
Refreshments will be served throughout both events. This is a free and multicultural event, and we invite all to join us in celebrating!
