Birdbee Studios Art School is pleased to announce Drama and Art classes for children age 7-11, in the New Year!
ArtAct will be a multidisciplinary class where the children will not only create their own play, along with character and plot, but will also create the set, masks and costumes to go with it! Yvonne and Nicole are very excited about collaborating on this project �We feel that we will be able to work with the children in an exciting new way to make a complete performance of their own making�!
Image Play is a visual arts class being offered by Yvonne on Saturday mornings that will focus on drawing & painting skills as well as include printmaking, collage & assemblage. Experimentation with different media will be encouraged. There will be a final exhibition of the children�s work for family & friends.
The visual arts component will be instructed by Yvonne Vander Kooi a local artist who has taught and worked with children for over 20 years, exhibited professionally and in recent years has painted public murals & designed & painted sets for local theatre productions.
The theatre component will be taught by Nicole Busby, a talented local actress who has performed with various theatre companies including recent Western Edge productions such as Dreamland Saturday Nights & Shakespeare�s Will. She has extensive training in theatre, dance and voice. Nicole has taught drama classes offered at Arts Alive and through her involvement in various school & community projects.

1. ArtAct runs from Friday, January 8 to March 19 (no class March 12) from 2-5pm culminating in a performance for family and friends.

2. Image Play runs from Saturday, January 9 to March 6 (no class February 27) from 10am-1pm.
Both classes will be held at the new FireBird Studios 345 Haliburton St. The cost is $250- for ArtAct and $200 for Image Play, both include supplies.
