Based on the U.S. West Coast, the Benvenue Fortepiano Trio consists of Grammy-nominated British baroque violinist Monica Huggett, American cellist Tanya Tomkins and American fortepiano specialist Eric Zivian. The trio will bring with them a beautifully crafted 6.5 octave fortepiano made in Vienna in 1841 by Franz Rausch. The instrument is a perfect example of the sort of piano Schumann and Mendelssohn would have composed on, and the concert programme will fittingly be devoted two these two Romantic masters.
