add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
This 25 minute film is designed to explain the effect witnessing domestic violence has on the developing brains of infants and children, the impact on their behaviour and relationships, and the long term consequences for their future.
The film seeks to help parents, teachers and caregivers to better understand what is happening for the children, and to provide them with suggestions and tools to support these children. The screening will be followed by a light reception and panel discussion featuring: Dr. Sandra Weiland, PhD, Clinical Psychologist Shemine Gulamhusein, MA, Shelter Programs Manager Kerilee McLeod, BA, Children Who Witness Abuse Counsellor
In conjunction with National Victims of Crime Awareness Week Victoria Women's Transition House seeks to increase public awareness and encourage discussion and dialogue around the issue of domestic violence, and to acknowledge the strength and courage of women who have experienced abuse within their intimate relationships.
