Beginner Beekeeping Workshop

To register please phone 1-866-734-6252, or register in person at the VIU Parksville Centre or at the Registration Department in Building 200 at the VIU Nanaimo Campus. Tuition is due upon registration.

This two day workshop will give you all the information you need to get started and manage your bees successfully. Participants will also attend a field day to be scheduled. Workshop starts in the Magnolia Room in the Milner House at Milner Gardens & Woodland, 2179 West Island Highway, Qualicum Beach . Beginner Workshop Goals: Introduce all basic knowledge to start a colony, develop it through the season, prepare for winter and manage for pests and diseases. To introduce information on resources to further develop your beekeeping skills and knowledge. To ensure you are aware of laws, regulations and government policies on the management, movement and treatment of bees. To provide an overview of the products that may be drawn from bee colonies for human use.
