Violinist Paul Luchkow and fortepianist Michael Jarvis celebrate the season with a period performance of Beethoven's classic Spring sonata, plus a delightful and influential companion piece, written by prolific but little-known composer Johann Franz Xaver Sterkel, who was greatly admired by Beethoven and who pointed the way towards Schubert's lyricism.
