Topic: Workplace Bullying & Harassment (changes to Bill 14)

At this roundtable you will learn more about WorkSafeBC�s Occupational Health and Safety workplace bullying and harassment policy amendments effective November 1, 2013. �The new policies have been developed to clarify the obligations of employers, workers and supervisors regarding preventing, where possible, or otherwise minimizing workplace bullying and harassment�.

Glenn Barned, CHRP is a Professional Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Consultant with RGB Enterprises. With over 30 years of experience in OH&S, Glenn has worked with both public and private sectors, achieving their OH&S goals. Glenn is a Certified Human Resource Professional, a Certified Health & Safety Consultant, a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, and a Certified Ergonomic Specialist.

Rachel Fisher joined WorkSafeBC in 2007 as a policy analyst. In 2009 she took on the role of Manager, Corporate Services at WorkSafeBC. She oversaw the development of the Domestic Violence in the Workplace Tool Kit released by WorkSafeBC in March 2012 and she is currently leading the development of the Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace Tool Kit. Prior to joining WorkSafeBC, Rachel attended UBC law school and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2000. She subsequently practiced in the areas of corporate/commercial litigation and employment law.

Shelley Quinte has practiced exclusively in labour and employment law for the last 15 years, relocating to Victoria in 2012. She is experienced in advising and representing federal and provincial employers in the public and private sectors, and appearing before arbitrators, the Labour Board, administrative boards and tribunals and the courts. Shelley�s practice extends to all aspects of the employment relationship from pre-emptive planning to formal litigation. As a seasoned contributing author, presenter and lecturer throughout her career, Shelley also offers general and in-house workshops, consultations and management-specific training to human resources professionals, management and executive teams.)
