The BC Societies Act – Transition and compliance basics! No more procrastinating…
By November 28, 2018 your constitution and bylaws must be transitioned onto the British Columbia Registrar of Companies electronic system. And, regardless of when you make that transition your society must act in accordance with the provisions of the new Act.
The BC Societies Act, has changes that must be implemented ‘as is’ and areas where a Society may make decisions to best suit their organization. This workshop focuses on supporting you to not only meet the November 28th transition deadline but to also address aspects related to compliance with the Act.
Designed with sufficient time to pose broad-based questions and exchange ideas with your colleagues, this workshop will:
• provide a concise overview of key changes in the Act,
• map options for transitioning your constitution and bylaws, and
• explore tactics for becoming compliant with the Act.
