Wednesday, Feb 26th, 7-9pm, AV Words on Fire! Spoken word open mic - Desperate Writers of Port Alberni, Write Again!
will feature authors Deb Oakes, Ann Gijsbers, Margaret Growcott and Julie Turner as they launch their second anthology Desperate Writers of Port Alberni, Write Again! Short story and poetry enthusiasts will delight with their depiction of life on Vancouver Island throughout its eras and lifespans. This always entertaining evening starts with Open Mike showcasing local writers reading their stories, poems and memoirs. Promises to be highly entertaining. Don't forget to bring your writing, and bring a friend, and (...!) remember there no longer is a $5.00 admittance fee. How good is that!
Doors open 6pm Admission by donation. Coffee/tea/sweets available for $3.
