Wednesday, October 15^th, 6-9pm, AVTTS 6pm mtg, 7pm film “Bringing It home” followed by discussion about hemp

We will be following up with a screening of “Bringing It Home”, a film which discusses the many uses and advantages of industrial hemp. The film makers are quick to point out that this is a strain of Cannabis Sativa that contains negligible amounts of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, and, as such, is useless as a psychostimulant. It does, however, have a multitude of uses, including the production of fibre for cloth or paper, the fabrication of structural lumber, the formation of hempcrete for construction purposes, the making of plastics and fuel, and, of course, the traditional cordage used in most marine applications.
