AVIVA Chorus, Central Vancouver Island’s all-gender queer choir, is proud to present their upcoming concert Pride, Resiliency, and Renewal, a choral celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ Pride.
This musical celebration will feature an exciting choral repertoire as well as guest performers Raymond Salgado, finalist for Canada’s Got Talent, and Joëlle Rabu, who will be singing her original composition “I Am Proud/Je suis fier,” first performed at the Vancouver Gay Games in 1990. Jona Kristinsson of the Femmes Fatales will be hosting.
Partial concert proceeds will benefit LGBTQI+ refugee relocation efforts in partnership with ROAR (Reaching Out Assisting Refugees) from Nanaimo. Additionally, AVIVA is pleased to celebrate our local 2SLGBTQIA+ visual artists with a variety of queer produced works available for purchase at the event.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and are available in person at the Port Theatre Ticket Centre, by phone at (250) 754-8550, or online at www.porttheatre.com.
AVIVA Chorus was founded in 2005 and is currently under the direction of celebrated musician Nico Rhodes.
