Wednes, March 26th, 7-9pm, Alberni Valley Words on Fire! Spoken word open mic featuring Linda K. Thompson
featuring well known local poet Linda K. Thompson. She began writing in 2001 with Derek Hanebury and continued to study with Ellen Bass, Marie Howe, Dorianne Laux and most importantly, she says, Patrick Lane. Linda will be reading from her newly released chapbook Four Small People in Sturdy Shoes. Influenced by her childhood in Pemberton and Vancouver Island she is "compelled to record, to save their whispered stories". Doors open at 6:30.
