Sharon Butala has published sixteen books of both fiction and nonfiction as well as numerous articles and essays for magazines and newspapers and has been extensively anthologized. She has also had five plays produced. Her most recent book is The Girl in Saskatoon: A Meditation on Friendship, Memory and Murder (HarperCollins, 2008). She has just completed another novel, her seventh, and is beginning a new nonfiction on older women. She is an Officer in the Order of Canada and has received the Saskatchewan Order of Merit as well as the Marian Engel Award, the Kloppenburg Award for her achievement in literature, and numerous other awards and prizes over her thirty-plus years of writing, including three honorary doctorates.
Cornelia Hoogland�s writing has been published and performed internationally. Selections from her 6 books of poetry, three chapbooks and her nonfiction have won numerous literary competitions and have been shortlisted for the CBC literary (poetry and nonfiction categories) awards, the Relit awards, and the National Magazine Awards. �Sea Level� was published by Baseline Books this fall. Cornelia�s play, Red, had its Canadian premiere in May 2013 (Fountainhead Theatre, London, Ontario). Gravelly Bay was published by Alfred Gustav Press in 2012, Woods Wolf Girl by Wolsak and Wynn in 2011, Crow by Black Moss Press the same year. Cornelia is Professor Emeritus of Western University and lives on Hornby Island, British Columbia.
