No appointments are necessary, just show up at the start time.
All characters have southern accents. Anyone considering auditioning for a part, must be able to carry a southern US accent and come prepared to do so. Characters:
Clairee (60 to 70 years) Clairee must be classy all the way. Her accent would be refined and reserved. She is a matriarch type and the whole town know her and loves her. She can be a little sly and is always ready to be in on a practical joke. She walks tall and is very proud of her appearance.
M�lynn (45 to 50 years) She is an overprotective mother. There is nothing she would not do for her family. Mother of the bride and a little frantic. Definitely stressed.
Truvy (40 to 45 years) This is the one character who can be a bit over the top. Knows everything about everyone. Likes to gossip but is very discreet. Truvy�s accent can be a little �backwoods� and she can be a little bit loud.
Shelby (Early 20�s) Thinks she is grown up and doesn�t appreciate her mother�s over protective worrying. Very outgoing. Fragile health. Should be thinner.
Anelle (Early to mid 20�s) Painfully shy at first, but grows dramatically through the play. Has secrets.
Ouiser (50 to 70 years) Always a mess. Hair all over. Dressed down in dungarees or the like. Frumpy. Always angry at something or someone. Bad luck with husbands. Bitter.
Scripts can be picked up at The King�s Deli at 773 Fort Street. All scripts must be returned either to The King�s Deli or at the auditions.
