The auditions will be held at The Capitol Theatre on Monday & Tuesday, November 18th and 19th from 7:30pm. No need to book an audition: just turn up.

Auditions will consist of readings from the play. If you have not acted in a Portal Players production in the last few years, we recommend that you prepare a short monologue (comic or dramatic) for your audition,

We are looking for eight actresses: two to plays parts in their late teens, five to play parts in their late thirties, and one to play a 40/50 year-old character. We also need one young man - his character is in his mid to late teens.

The play is a comedy-drama written by Ed Graczyk. It takes place in a 5 & Dime store in a small town in Texas in 1955 and 1975. A copy of the play is available for reading in the theatre lounge.

The play will open May 1st, and will be Portal Players' entry in the NIZ festival in Qualicum in late May. Rehearsals will start in February.
