THE PENELOPIAD by Margaret Atwood is the ancient tale of Odysseus, re-told from his wife Penelopes perspective. It examines the subjects of guilt, memory, and choices, in a lively and entertaining manner, using choral voices with original music specially composed for this production, and movement, drawing on both ancient and modern inspirations. It will be a completely unique, challenging and rewarding piece for everyone working on it!

Please note: Musical ability, vocal and/or instrumental, will be an asset for some of the roles, so feel free to bring a musical piece to the audition. No accompanist will be provided. Also, if you have a monologue, that will be welcome as well. In any case, the auditions will include cold readings from the script.

Cast required: The performers are all female. Most of the cast will be playing multiple roles, both genders, various species (animals, gods, humans) and all ages. 12 of the roles require the ability to move well on stage.
