THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD

Directed by Roger Carr, Choreography by Sylvia Hosie
Production Dates: March 4 to March 21, 2015
Audition Dates and Times:
Friday, October 24th, 6:30 – 9:30 pm
Saturday, October 25th, 6:30 – 9:30 pm
Sunday, October 26th: Dancing: 12 – 1:00 pm | Acting & Vocals: 1 – 4:00 pm
Auditions will take place in the Rehearsal Room at Langham Court Theatre (pls enter thru the parking lot door)
Audition Information:
Setting: The Music Hall Royale, 1892 is our locale.
Character Needs: A range of ages. Everyone sings, dances and acts with varying degrees of competence. First note: “It must be rambunctious and fun!” (Roger Carr)
Music: Come prepared with your own song, about one minute long
Acting: Will be using British accents, but not needed for auditions. Look at the scenes for the role you are interested in reading. Please do not come memorized.
Dancing: All ages; some young ladies who can whirl and kick high and be very, very naughty.
Character Descriptions:
Chairman – Plays both the Chairman and Mayor Sapse
Stage Manager – Could be male or female
Jasper – In his 30s. The villain of the piece
Drood – In his 20s. Played by a female
Rosa – Teens to early 20s. The ingénueHelena – 20s. Tempestuous
Neville – 20s. Companion piece to Helena
Rev Crisparkle – 35+
Durdles 50+ – The Music Hall Royale company clown. Cockney
Puffer 55+ – Cockney, frayed
Deputy – Male, teens, cockney
Bazzard - 35+, male, gentle soul, an “also ran” in life
