Artspring Summer Painting Workshop

Wildlife artist W. Allan Hancock returns to ArtSpring to share more of his creative process in this five-day acrylic workshop inspired by the coast of British Columbia. Participants will gain many insights in capturing the beauty of nature in art as they work with one of Canada’s finest nature artists.
The workshop begins with an inspiring stroll on the waterfront. Later in the gallery, participants learn board preparation and gessoing techniques. They also practice composition sketching, drawing and roughing in painting, then paint alongside Hancock as he offers instruction. Participants finish with a complete piece and a small celebration.
*Please note, the workshop runs daily from 10-4 pm. Participants should pack a lunch; snacks & coffee will be provided. They should bring their own brushes and acrylic paints (colours of their choice), along with their own easels.
