Join Marni Stanley as she talks about graphic narratives of displacement -- stories about people whose lives have been disrupted by conflict, told in the very popular graphic form. These stories put readers face to face with the suffering of others, but also expose the limits of our compassion and challenge us to move from seeing to acting. Marni will include several examples of these graphic narratives in her talk, which will be followed by questions from the audience.
Dr. Marni Stanley is a professor is Interim Dean of the Arts and Humanities and professor in the Studies in Women and Gender department at Vancouver Island University.
