This Pro-D Day is a collaboration between the Community Economic Development Officer, the Gabriola Chamber Manager, Dinah D and the Gabriola Arts Council.

Dinah D will take you through the beginner steps of grant writing, to familiarize you with the process. Get beginner chops from “how to find the right grant” to submitting it.

Description


Teaching skills and sharing hands on experience can be rewarding both financially and by connecting with people interested in your work. This two-part workshop will get your creative juices flowing about what you can teach and how to set up the basic structures for successful workshops. In the first portion of the workshop, instructor Tony Grove will take you through the basics of setting up a successful class. The second half will be a panel discussion with 5 locals who have been running workshops as part of their business model.

Each one speaking for 15-20 minutes about their personal business journey, lessons learned, pro-tips and tools they discovered along the way. Think “Ted Talks” from locals for locals on building a thriving creative business. After the individual speakers, there will be a facilitated panel discussion.
