- JANUARY 6 - FEBRUARY 1
Opening Reception Thur Jan 9, 6-8pm
Alanna Sparanese explores 3,000 year old encaustic techniques used by Egyptian and Greek artists.
Beeswax, pigment and resin are fused together under a blow torch and buffed to a satin lustre.
The resulting images have a dream like quality.
Ananna Sparanese, The Hills Beckon, encaustic on board, 10"x20"
Alanna sparanese, Eastward, encaustic on board, 6"x6"
Award winning Victoria painter, Lisa Hebden, works with acrylic on canvas, capturing the essence of winter light.
The warm glow permeates the painting with a rich luminosity revealing complex textures within the hedgerow.
The Dare leaves us mystified to unravel its meaning.
