HIDE, STAND OUT, SUBVERT, CONFUSE, DAZZLE, CONTRADICT, PLAY, PERFORM, DESIGN, DRAW, VIDEO, PHOTOGRAPH. ART GIVES YOU A VOICE - TELL YOUR STORY Applications accepted until June 30 for our four week art immersion program for 10 young artists aged 15-19 in Nanaimo.
LEARN about disciplines like painting, video, drawing, sculpture, photography, performance, desing and curating.
EXPLORE notions of disquise, costume and theatricality in contemporary art.
BECOME EMPOWERED to tell your story and develp your art practice through dialoque and experimentation.
WORK WITH PROFESSIONAL ARTIST MENTORS Brian Lye, Elizabeth Milton, lessLIE, Yvonne Vander Kooi, and gallery curator Jesse Birch. CREATE, CURATE AND PROMOTE AN EXHIBITION of your work at Art Lab. Participants receive an artist honorarium of $300 upon program completion.
