Adina Barugolo, born in Port Alberni in 1966 and discovered a passion for the arts. Through her years at Kwalikum High School Adina excelled in Fine Arts. In later years she furthered her art education in Venice, Italy. Her love of classic architecture and antique Venetian locations is expressed vividly in her work, however, she considers herself a versatile artist working with various medias and unique subject matter. This has contributed to her personal growth as an artist and is a recent member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Adina strives to communicate with others how she visually perceives her world, her inspiration and her lifes journey.
Peter Leclerc, a former Montrealer, moved to Qualicum Beach twenty years ago.
This is his first public showing in over twenty-five years. In the interim, he developed a personal style of abstract expressionism. I wanted to do more than just represent what I see, says Leclerc, a graduate of St-Laurent College in Montreal and an alumnus of the Victoria College of Art.
The drawings featured in the show contain no deliberate subject matter or identifiable features. I leave the subject up to the viewer, he says.
Peter and Adina formed an art alliance a couple of years ago and have met regularly to critique and promote their art, a process which has led to this exhibit.
