AVIVA Chorus will be accompanied by locally and nationally renowned singer and songwriter Teri Wood, humorist/artist Sheila M. Norgate, and Nanaimo’s own Poet Laureate Tina Biello. Local singer/songwriters Jamie Black and Raymond Wade as well as flutist Alicia Vanin will also be performing solo choir members.
AVIVA Chorus has been performing for over eleven years and is open to all gender identities and singing abilities. Every four years the choir travels to Unison Festival to sing along side other LGBTQ choirs from across the country and is looking forward to traveling to Calgary in May of 2018.
AVIVA Chorus is a charitable not-for-profit society. Every year the choir donates a portion of their fundraising proceeds to a local charity. This year AVIVA Chorus has chosen to donate to a local LGBTQ youth group, Generation Q., a group for queer and allied youth of Nanaimo in the 13 to 18-year-old age group (with youth over 18 welcome as youth mentors).
Last year’s show was sold out, so get your tickets early. Tickets are available by contacting AVIVA Chorus president Corinne Devison [email protected] 250-713-5504 www.facebook.com/avivachorus
