Canadian born Angela Hewitt is one of the world’s leading pianists. She has performed with major orchestras in Europe, Asia and North America and has recorded works by Schumann, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Liszt and others and is best known for her interpretation of Bach.
Winner of numerous piano awards, she was also named a Companion of the Order of Canada and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. As a tireless promoter of the arts, Angela launched the Trasimeno Music Festival in Italy and is an ambassador for ‘Orkidstra” – a social development program In Ottawa’s inner city.

As well as her concert at The Port Theatre, Ms. Hewitt will be giving a master class on Saturday October 7th. Both the Concert and the master class will be promoted in Nanaimo as well as in Victoria and Vancouver so it is recommended to obtain tickets early. They go on sale August 15th.
