A creative exploration of brush painting medium as well as landscape painting, special textures and effects on rice paper, paper stretching & scroll mounting. Traditional & contemporary techniques, Chinese ink, rice paper, colour, texture, composition, aesthetic principles & technical skills.

Andy Lou grew up in China and received a MFA from the U of North Texas. He has taught Chinese Brush Painting at UBC, Simon Fraser, Malaspina & UVic. as well as at MISSA. His mixed media cross-cultural paintings have been exhibited and collected widely in Canada, U.S.A. and China. Andy is also a co-author of three books on brush painting.
